God Rest You Merry Gentlemen

God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen on eräs vanhimmista perinteisistä englantilaisista joululauluista. Sen arvellaan olevan peräisin 1500-luvulta. Alkuperäinen sanoitus sisältää monia englannin kielestä pois jääneitä ilmaisuja ja laulusta on tehty sittemmin nykyaikaistettuja versioita. Laulun ensimmäisessä säkeistössä todetaan ytimekkäästi joulun keskeinen sanoma: "Remember, Christ, our Savior, was born upon this day to save us all from Satan's power when we were gone astray." Muistakaa, Kristus, meidän Vapahtajamme, syntyi tänä päivänä pelastaakseen meidät kaikki Saatanan vallasta kun olimme kadotettuja.

The Twelve Days of Christmas

Twelve Days of Christmas on vanha englantilainen joululaulu. Siinä luetellaan lahjoja joita laulaja on saanut rakastetultaan jokaisena joulunajan kahtenatoista päivänä. Laulusta on tehty lukemattomia muunnelmia. Vuonna 2010 Englannin yleisradioyhtiön BBC:n konsertissa Royal Albert Hallissa sen esittivät Hayley Westenra, Russell Watson, Aled Jones:

Carol of The Bells / Ring Christmas Bells

Shchedryk - ajankohtainen versio

Ukrainalaisen Mykola Leontovychin säveltämä joululaulu perustuu ukrainalaiseen kansanlauluun Shchedryk. Lauluun tehtiin kahdet eri englanninkieliset sanat. Peter Wilhouskyn versio on nimeltään Carol of The Bells ja Minna Louise Hohmannin sanoitus on nimeltään Ring Christmas Bells. Jälkimmäisen version sanat muistuttavat, että joulun sankari ei jäänyt kehtoon makaamaan, vaan hän on Kuningas.

Libera on englantilainen anglikaaninen poikakuoro. Se koostuu pojista, jotka ovat iältään 7–16-vuotiaita. Tässä he esittävät kappaleen Carol of the Bells:

For Unto Us A Child Is Born

Saksalaissyntyisen barokin ajan säveltäjän George Frideric Handelin englanninkielinen mestariteos Messias-oratorio valmistui vuonna 1741. Handel oli asettunut asumaan Englantiin vuonna 1714 ja hän kuoli Lontoossa 1759.
Oratorion teksti koostuu Raamatun jakeista ja kertoo kristinuskon keskeisen sanoman Jeesuksesta.
Teosta esitetään usein joulun aikana. Kappale For Unto Us A Child Is Born (Sillä lapsi on syntynyt meille) kertoo Jeesuksen syntymästä, joka ennustettiin jo Vanhassa testamentissa. Tässä sen esittää australialaiset Cantillation kuoro ja Orchestra of the Antipodes.

For unto us a Child is born,
unto us a Son is given,
and the government shall be upon His shoulder;
and his name shall be called
Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God,
the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.

Sillä lapsi on syntynyt meille, poika on annettu meille.

Walking In The Air

Piirroselokuvaa Lumiukko (The Snowman) esitetään jouluisin televisiossa. Sen tunnusmelodia Walking In The Air on tullut tutuksi monenlaisena versiona. Kappaleen on säveltänyt ja sanoittanut englantilainen Howard Blake. Tässä alkuperäinen versio, jonka esittää Peter Auty, eräs St. Paul's Cathedralin kuorolaisista.

Piirroselokuva oli Oscar ehdokkaana vuonna 1982 ja se perustuu englantilaisen Rayond Briggsin tekemään lasten kuvakirjaan.
